Barbara Kosoff

Barbara Kosoff began her career as a graphic designer and art director working in both the US and abroad. Her interest in getting back to making art (sans the computer) led her to create mixed-media works on paper and assemblage. She works traditionally by cutting and pasting photographic images found in magazines, pop culture publications, paper bags, and other random sources, and then combines them with drawing and painting with oil bars. She lives and works in Santa Monica as a graphic designer and illustrator – her work as a designer has been published in several design magazines, and her editorial illustration has been published in national publications and on book covers.

Barbara’s artwork has been exhibited in Los Angeles at Barnsdall Park Municipal Arts Gallery, Bonhams & Butterfields, Upstairs at the Market Gallery, Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) in Santa Ana, the Venice Art Crawl and next month her work will be shown at the James Gray Gallery at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica.
