Marina DeBris

Marina DeBris was born in Detroit, MI and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. She studied metalsmithing at Indiana University and went on to receive a degree in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design. She has been a practicing graphic designer in New York City, London, England, Sydney, Australia and Los Angeles. Her involvement in environmental issues over the past few years has led her to environmental art and teaching, with her art regularly displayed with groups like SHFT, Heal the Bay, Friends of Ballona Wetlands, Sustainable Works, Algalita Marine Research, Surfriders and other environmental groups. She has been in group and solo shows at pureDKNY Gallery (NYC), Deborah Martin Gallery, Continental Gallery, Gallery 825, G2 Gallery, reDiscover Center, The Mannequin Collective, Aquarium of the Pacific and Upstairs at the Market. She has also been published in Forth Magazine and Obsolete Magazine. While collaborating with Clean Seas Coalition, she produced a series of postcards urging local politicians to pass bills like the “Leash your Lid Law,” and “Plastic Bag Ban”.
