art, inspiration, collaboration

Sari Hatma

Even when I was still in my mom’s belly my dad played funny music and sang to me. My parents continued to inspire and encourage me artistically – especially about the way art can be regular part of everyday life.  As a very young child I was already making alphabet stencils, sketching and painting with watercolors. By the time I was nine I already had it in my head that I could build a house from scratch.

Being born and raised in a traditional Javanese family gave me strong interest in culture and has influenced my work as graphic designer. I have always been drawn to simplicity and small details. My current life and surroundings often inspire my artwork.
